Day 11 -- Making Change

Group 1 Adeline Wong 3A (30) Today was definitely a fun day! We planned a project on changing our communities. Our group did a project on tackling obesity.  Thoughout the process we came up with different solutions and learnt to apply the SMART goal in our project framing, meaning that the goals we set are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. We also went for the YMCA high ropes.  All of us definitely challenged ourselves to our fullest as we tried to accomplish different tasks at a high spot, such as jumping and leaning back on a high pole with other team members. We learnt to build more trust in others we are cooperating with.   The highlight of the day was definitely the dreamcatcher-making session. We had a great time making our own unique dream catchers and it was a valuable experience for us to learn about accepting our flaws. Day 10 -- Goal Setting

Group 1 Samantha Wong 3S (30) The weather of the today was sunny and just perfect for an outing, making our visit to the Kustermans Berry Farm a very pleasant experience. The farm is not only the place where berries grow, but also home to animals such as ponies, pigs, sheeps and more. Our visit began with berry-picking. The blueberries were fresh and large. They looked so juicy that we all couldn’t help packing our plastic boxes with berries.  We then headed to play on the swing, zip-line and even tried to ride on a pony! Riding on a pony was the most exciting activity, and also my favourite part of today. I had never ridden a pony before. I was a bit scared at first since I worried that the horse would lose its balance due to the weight and fell. However, it turned out to be a fun experience. I even took some pictures with the pony. All in all, we enjoyed visiting the farm a lot, and we couldn’t wait to taste our very first pack of self-picked blueberries! G roup 2 Cherian...

Day 9 -- Teamwork

Group 1 Karine Man 3S (26) Today we learnt about teamwork and we did several activities which require cooperation with group members. Among all the contests, I love the marshmallow challenge the most since our group was the winner. It was quite challenging discussing how to build up the tower and we thought we would fail the challenge at first. Unexpectedly, we were able to hold the marshmallow securely at the highest height. Through this challenge, I have learnt the importance of teamwork and how good collaboration leads to success. Also, we had a cultural night and cooked some dishes that represent Hong Kong for our counsellors. My group was in charge of cooking, and we were delighted that we got the chance to use the utensils and apparatus provided to serve others. The dishes were particularly delicious, probably because we did not have any Chinese cuisine in the past week. Group 2 Agnes Yu 3S (32 ) The theme of today is teamwork. We played a lot of fun games including ...
